I have both a T28 single flash and T10 ring. We use both it in dentistry.
Ring flashes are easier to use and easier to learn hnow to use. It gives a
soft pleasing picture. Point flash must be adjusted on each view. Rules, such
as when shooting in a mirror with a point source, one must remember to keep
the flash on the same side as the mirror.
Yashica even makes a camera called "the Dental Eye" which has a build in ring
flash and TTL mode of exposure. BTW the TTL flash works real well with ring
flash and manual mode is not hard either.
