True enough.  If you're using a small aperture to catch some of the waterfall
in the background, then you want to consider the background.  With an OM4T you
might spot twice on the models face and once on the background.  Or you might
meter only the background and use the f280 flash to fill in.  Or you might try
reflecting light onto the model.  If, however, you're trying to shoot a flower
and don't care about the background (understated---you always care about what
is behind the, the metering is done solely on the subject.
