I would second this cost factor and Doris' comment about the compactness of
the system which surely counts for a lot(at least to me). To follow is a
sub-$20,000.00 top ten. I can get a 21/3.5, 24/2.8, 28/2.8, 35/2.8, 50 /3.5,
85/2, 135/3.5 and 200/5 (all 49mm filters), an OM body, extension tubes, 1.5x
extender, stack of filters, viewfinder magnifier and 1/2 dozen rolls of film
in my Lowe Orion II fanny pack. I know, I know, the 135/3.5 and 200/5 aren't
that sharp, but they beat my Vivitar Series I zoom. I would guess the 18mm
and 300/4.5 would round it out to a top ten if you wanted to carry another
case.. And also escaping the top ten of many is the 80/4 macro, which by many
accounts is in the world top ten.
