Hi all:
To answer the skeptics, with amazing little effort, I left the keyboard and
the OLY list and did some shooting today. Despite shooting action shots
(using a 70-210 zoom and Polaroid OneStep 200 - a.k.a. Agfa HDC 200) while
riding a jet ski, I probably I should have remained to catch up on my e-mail.
We've recently been recommending and cautioning Marco about his upcoming SW US
desert travel (i.e., Death Valley). Well, Lake Mead isn't much cooler. It
was probably 115 deg. F today. And I blew a radiator hose.
So, beside taking hot weather gear on summer desert shoots (one or more
windshield sun screens, coolers, waterproof canoeing bags), I'd recommend a
hose clamp. That simple item held together the split hose and allowed a
short-cut 60 mile drive home for a new hose, via the Valley of Fire. Knowing
the fondness of that place to List members, I felt sufficiently guilty for not
shooting a single picture while driving through it.
