This was 8 years ago, but things haven't changed that much. I think all this
shows is that some wedding pros may choose to cut corners (like outdated film
or 35mm vs medium format**) to compete with those who do such high volume and
are accepting a much lower margin on the job.
Those who get a decent result like I did for $350 are probably the exception
however... Heck, the last wedding I shot would come to nearly $350 for film and
printing costs if I had done it at a pro lab. (It was family, so I just gave
them the film. I've still not seen most of the shots I took)
** This is just echoing some whose viewpoint is that medium format is the only
way to go for weddings, not necessarily my viewpoint, however.
