You want good and cheap lens hoods? Check out a well stocked plumbing
supply warehouse for truck loads of rubber and hard plastic flanges and
adapters in all combinations of diameters. Just experiment with them
till you find one that just slips on over the barrel of your lens. Maybe
add a little tape inside the flange for a better fit. Vignetting? Use a
hacksaw to cut it off. Mess it up? Get another one! At a couple bucks
each you can mess one up now and then and it doesn't hurt too bad.
Oh yeah, be prepared for a few strange looks from the guy behind the
counter and the other customers when you pull out your lens and start
trying on sewer pipe reducing flanges!
