Sorry for jumping in here.
I have converted several 6 volt Power Pack-2's. Some have become
radio control devices for my motor drives, but others I have built a 6
volt lead acid gel battery into, fitting neatly in place of the
original 4x1.5volt cell holder. But a caveat is worth mentioning here!
The modeling light bulbs of all macro flashes are very difficult to
replace, so you don't want to blow them. They will have a much longer
lifetime when used with 5-5.5 volts (e.g. from 4 NiCad cells replacing
the 4 alkalines normally giving power) than with 6-6.5 volts of full
alkalines - let be with the 6.9 volts a completely charged lead
battery will give!!!.........snip....
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm in the process of blackmailing my
electronically inclined 81 yo Father into making me a power pack. All your
info in indeed timely.
