The application I am familiar with where short duration is a problem is high
speed flash. The very high energy, ultra-short duration energy bursts
needed to capture high speed events requires adjustment to exposure
settings. And some of the new bodies have a top speed of 1/8000; that's
getting close. Anyway, its not the sort of problem I expect to encounter
anytime soon. Its those 90 minute exposures that give me fits <g>.
