Oops. If warranty would be voided by a small reversible modification
like this even without opening the camera, then you're right, John.
I realize that I don't know exactly what does void the warranty and
what modifications are allowed. Replacing a strap will be fine, I
guess and replacing a lens must be OK as well ;-) but what is the
limit between allowed and forbidden?
If no Olympus tech can tell a camera has been 'tampered' with... it
hasn't, at least not in a blameworthy way ;-)
Now that's my personal philosophy, of course.
If I ever have to exercise the warranty rights I will send another
message: OM-2000 modification: I undid it.
