Yes, I also remove the camera back.

I use the 1-13 FC, as I remember it is a little bit smaller than the two
inner rails, so I have to place it at 45 degrees to make it more stable.
At the beginning I have not tape the FC for convenience, but it always
drop into the mirror box.
