Still catching up ! I'm at digest #311 now !
I started out with Olympus 7 or 8 years ago. An OM-1 with a 50/f1.8. I
bought Olympus because someone advised me to ! In astrophotography (my
main purpose back then), it's quite a cult-camera. Soon afterwards, I
purchased a Tamron 300mm/f5.6, which I gave to my sister recently (she
has an OM-10 + 35-70/f3.5-4.5).
3 years ago, I got myself a few zooms to take some holiday pics. It was
a Sigma 35-70 f4.0, which I got rid of ASAP because I absolutely hated
the "one-touch" zoom. It gave the zoom a terribly flimsy feel. The
other one was a Zuiko 75-150.
About half a year ago, I got another lens, a 28mm/f2.8. Also, I
exchanged my OM-1 for an OM-3 because the light meter of the OM-1 was
broken. This leaves me with an all-Olympus system : OM-3 + 50mm/f1.8 +
28mm/f2.8 + 75-150mm.
I've never had another camera. It's only now that I'm experiencing what
effort it is to take pictures with non-Olympus cameras. I have to say
that I can only be envious of the love for photography that e.g. N*k*n
users must feel in order to endure those cameras !
