I love my 18mm. It is an extreme lens, and frankly, not something I use
all the time. The 24mm (and I own three 24 zuikos) is a wonderful
landscape lens, and one of my favorites. But when you need the "width",
there's a very different visual feel to the 18. Nothing else will do. I do
not own a 21 zuiko, but I have a 20/3.5 Nikkor, which gets plenty of use.
A 24 & 18mm combo makes much more sense than a 24-21. A 28-21 works
better.
So much depends on your own vision and way of working. I would advise
borrowing one (or go out with a friend who has a 20 or 18 and switch
bodies/lenses for at least 1 roll). If you are unsure, buy a 17/3.5 Tokina
for $200. If you like it, keep it, if not, dump it on the list for
$150 and you've learned something (or take that $150 and apply it towards
an 18 zuiko!).
