Not necessarily. I picked up my 300/4.5 for exactly $300 U.S., and it was in
fine shape. Now, to be fair, I spent about twenty minutes on the phone
long-distance to the gentleman in Texas (I live in Alberta, Canada), trying to
get a feel for the kind of person I was dealing with. In the end, I got good
vibes, so I went for it, and I've been quite pleased with the purchase. But I
agree, you do have to be careful...
