Hi all:
Most of what a 4x4 will do is get you stuck deeper from civilization!
Sometimes even close to it, as the case of my coming down off a 50 mile
mountain route and ending up immediately N of Las Vegas. We lingered for
awhile taking sunset shots of the city scape and bedrock outcrops. That was
foolish. The remaining 8 miles of bajada (fan) was insane with dirt bike
trails in all directions. We lost track of the road in the dark (which had
been deeply bisected by a new, deep drainage channel and had to camp out for
the night. 43 deg. F with equipment for one. Anyone ever try sleeping two in
the back of a Ford Bronco II ?
Oly content: for 4WD'ing, a camera vest on the back of ther seats is great
protection for equipment which would otherwise bounce all over the joint.
