Hi,
I exchanged my Gitzo 201 non-vertical standard tripod for a Gitzo 220
Performance model. This is a model that can fold its legs up to 80
degrees (i.e. handy for putting 2 legs on the floor and 1 against a
wall). It's a great tripod. I bought it with a Manfrotto head (141 ?
a basic 3-way head), totalling at 10 000 BEF (+/- $250).
This tripod weighs 2 kg and the head 1 kg, which means you have to be
obsessed with photography if you want to drag it along while trekking.
Anyway, the lightweight OM stuff compensates, of course :-) It IS a
weird thing, a huge tripod with an OM-3 on it, certainly if the OM-3 has
my self-made pinhole-body-cover on it ...
