Oh well, it is a versatile thing:
1. It is a TC.
2. It is an extension tube, continuously variable.
3. Optics are good.
4. Any TC gives you a double x factor at the closest focus lenght, but this
"macro" TC gives you even more magnification.
5. DOF increases as the f/ settings are, in fact, doubled... (you can get
f/64 with some lenses) that is you get the same DOF as the lens would give
at the same f/ aperture, but with double magnification!
There is a series of concomitant reasons that make sense of a "macro TC
concept", so to say. There is a Kenko brand one, too...
You can build a pure Zuiko one with a 65-116 tube plus a 2X-A... but it is
bulkier, less compatible and far more costly!
