Hi Dan,
The OM3, OM4T and OM3Ti all have 5 contacts, while the OM1 &2 have 2 contacts.
One reason is so the newer bodies can use the Film Rewind feature of the Motor
Drive 2. The Motor drive 1 nor the winders have this capability. The OM1 & 2
can use the motor drive 2 but cannot use the rewind feature. I am not sure if
there are other reasons.
