>>Thank you for the suggestion Denton! As you know I have been the butt of
much criticism for being too commercialistic on the list. On the other hand a
large number of you said you appreciated my input and found the info
informative and not commercialistic! If enough of you true believers wanted
more info I will be happy to produce price info, until OLY tells me to stop
or lose my dealership!>>
I know you have been criticized, and to be honest, while I agree with some
of the criticism, I don't neccessarily agree with the way it has been
expressed. Hence my suggestion...
I don't want you to do anything to affect your relationship with Olympus. I
happen to have some twenty-five years of experience in the distribution
business, so here's what I would suggest. If you publish actual dealer
costs, that would probably be in violation of your agreements with your
principal. Don't do it. Instead, publish the percentages that each product
is being raised. This is a perfectly acceptable practice, i.e.:
8mm Zuiko +22%
90 Macro +12%
OM4Ti +21%
50 1.8 no change
etc.
You might even say...
quote
ITEM INCREASE INVENTORY
8mm Zuiko +22% 0
90 Macro +12% 2
OM4Ti +21% 6
50 1.8 no change 5
We will sell all above items at OLD COST until above inventory quantities
are exhausted.

You can send me a 4Ti at no charge for showing you the way <g>

Denton Taylor
