Are you sure its a non-MD - many OM-1 cameras were produced without the
MD badge, but they were MD compatible. Does it have the MD contacts and
linkage? If it doesn't then it is probably from the first year of
production 1973-1974. If it does, but just doesn't have the badge, it
could be from almost any year up till the introduction of the OM-1n.
Also, check the battery - if its not a mercury PX625 then I have heard
the US alternative could give you the sort of meter error you are
seeing.
