Hi all:
I've just updated the Oly magazine article list, based on the last two
days in the library. I managed to get through Pop Photo 72-97, and
Petersen's 75-83. I'll try to finish up the rest of Petersen's soon.
Also, I'm in the process of updating the "prices over time" list. It
looks like 85-90 was the "golden age". Lots of different lenses and
bodies in production, and cheap prices. I also noticed that Cambridge
prices start to diverge from those of B&H in the 1990 ads (perhaps
sooner, but I'm only sampling every 4 years). Did B&H get more honest,
or did Cambridge get more slimy? :)
Finally, someone about a year (maybe more, I have no sense of time),
mentioned a pic of a 50/2.0 Zuiko (NOT the macro). Welp, I found an
article on it. Just as pretty as you please on pages 138-9 of the Dec
'76 Pop Photo is a picture of a 50/2.0 that looks much like the later
40/2.0. So we know at least one was made... wonder who has it? It
could perhaps be the ultimate collectable Zuiko.
Cheers,
--Lee
