Gary,
In their OLD system, a manager of Kits could take something "out of
stock" just by assigning it a "99" number. It may be why that chain wasn't
doing so well :) They were bought out and added to the Ritz chain just
before Christmas, making Ritz now 1000+ stores, the biggest camera chain
in the world (I've worked for both companies, btw). But before you get TOO
bummed about it, ask a Kits store (they haven't changed signs yet) if they
have Ritz's special order inventory available yet. If not, go to a Ritz.
They have dozens of Olympus items available there, including a number of
lens (anyone with AF OM? lens are cheap!). I got both my OM remotes that
way.Be sure to tell them it's in their Special Order catalog. If you get
a lazy salesperson, they may not be aware it's there. OM stuff wasn't sold
on a daily basis.
good luck,
Brad
