> While the spotlight at Seybold Seminars New York 98 was
> trained on its new products, Olympus America Inc. last
> week also announced price reductions on some of its
> other digital cameras. The company said $100 price cuts
> will take effect on April 1.
>
> Olympus said its entry-level D-220L point-and-shoot
> camera will be reduced from $500 to a street price of

> 640-by-480-pixel resolution and video-out.
>
> The price of the higher-resolution D-320L will also be
> trimmed by $100, reaching $600 (street). Also rolled out
> last July, the 320-L offers a slot for removable memory,
> video-out, a 2-inch LCD and a resolution of 1,024 by 768
> pixels.
>
> Olympus' D-500L camera, introduced in September 1997,
> will drop from $900 to a street price of $800. The
> D-500L is equipped with a zoom lens and uses removable
> storage media.
>
> Its D-600L zoom camera will remain at $1,299, Olympus
> said (see
