This is probably not fungus. The foam seal between the eyepiece and prism
turns into a corrosive goo that eats off the mirror coating. It does LOOK
like fungus. I have two OM-1s with the same problem, and any that don't have
the foam changed will develop this problem. I presume in time it will start
showing up in the OM-2 and later models. Climate is definitely a factor.
Anybody need a very clean non MD OM-1 with the same problem along with a bad
meter? Bad OM-1 meters are also very common, and can usually be easily
fixed, but I haven't had time to look at this one.
