Yes, this is something I have planned to do since I got the cord, but
other priorities always seem to get in the way.

Creating an "M. Remote Cord Extension Cord" is a very simple DIY job.
Just connect a male and female mini jack plug with something like a
thin microphone cable. I have the 5m. Cord and a home-made Extension
Cord (approx. 4 or 5 meter I believe) and it works fine; larger lengths
will probably pose no problems. The only thing the Remote Cord switch
does is connecting the two poles.
