Yep, I've got the MR-9, but I can also still get hold of 1.35v mercury
batteries from Varta (their V625PX battery, still available in Canada until
the end of '98, when Varta ceases production worldwide -- after that, the
MR-9 will be your only option. The MR-9's also available from
http://www.criscam.com, price $29.95 U.S. Other adapters are *physical*
adapters only -- in other words, they don't turn the voltage down. The
MR-9 contains microcircuitry to step "silver 76es" or their equivalents
down from 1.5v to 1.35v, maintaining the reasonably flat discharge curve.)

mittful of Vartas -- I've already done this for another member of the list.
