Great! I still use those flashguns occasionally. As a matter of fact
it is only two days ago that I acquired a long sought after 315 volt
pack for these machines. (More precisely: the housing of it - the
battery packs were banned for safety reasons more than ten years ago,
... I owned one in those early days too.)

The 6V PP1 (4 AA cells) is good enough for the winder. But the 6V PP2
(4 D cells) is the only acceptable one for the modeling lights of the
macro flashes, which take much energy. I have even rebuilt two PP2's,
which now contain 6V lead-gel batteries. Saves a fortune!
