Thanks for reminding me about "The Lens Book." Pulling out my old copy I
see what you mean... Hicks has many, many references to the Series One and
a half-dozen on that lens in particular, which he owns. On page 36, with
photo taken by the 200/f3, he says it has a resolving power of "in excess
of 80 L P/MM" and on page 57 uses the words "cult status", on page 66 there
is another photo taken with the 200/f3, and lastly on p127 mentions that it
"focuses to about 1/4 life size." Certainly not a macro, but respectable.
I guess I'll head back to the dealer tomorrow. :-)
