A classic dilemma this of yours. I own both. I have been shooting thousands
pics with the 100 2.8, and less than one hundred with the 75-150. Quality
is excellent in both, that is considering the zoom as a zoom. Our 100 2.8
lens is better than the 100 and 105 friends of others manifacturers... I
have been using it with a "Takumar" metal shade. The greater part of the
image (but the corners), from f/5.6 to f/8 is impressive.
A 50 and a 100 imho shall give you full satisfaction and you very rarely
shall feel the necessity of something between them.
If the lens is MC :-) that should be a fair price. The f/2.8 is to be
considered a bit optimistc value.
