I couldn't agree more. The requirements for an astro mount are much greater
than a photo mount. The tripod for my telescope weighs over 15kg - and barely
does the job. It is also substantially more expensive than a photo tripod.
I suggest you match the equipment needed to your photo and/or astro objectives.
While they have many elements in common, they also have many elements that are
quite specialized. About the only part that can serve double duty effectively
is the camera body itself.
