John H ... Anyone ...?
I went to use my 1.4X the other day. It's been stored attached to the body of
a lens. I found that the aperture stop-down mechanism had become a bit
sticky, ie it did not move smoothly and would stick partway down.
'Excercising it' a bit back and forth seemed to help, but I imagine this will
get worse before it gets better. 2 questions:
Is there a simple fix I can do? What to watch out for?
Any guess why this happened to what is probably my youngest piece of glass,
purchased new? Did storing it on a lens contribute? Seems to me this is same
as leaving a lens on a body. Is this a no-no too?
