Vartas are commonly carried at most of the better camera stores here in
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Appears there's a large contingent of camera
owners who are using older cameras. Getting 1.35v mercury batteries isn't
a problem here.
If anyone is in dire need, let me know -- I can always buy a few and mail
'em to you.
