Ken: I think your observations are pretty much on mark. Feathers
are VERY tough and few long zooms will resolve to that level of
detail. I still need to do some work with mine to really
explore the limits...One of the reasons I just built a darkroom.
I'll be running some T-Max 400 and some Agfapan 25 through the
camera one of these days when the sun is shining...We'll see.
There was a used Tokina 150-500 in OM mount for sale in
rec.photo.marketplace last week.
But if feathers were tough on the Tokina, beaks would be a steep
trail for the Samyang.
