No, I was just tracing the announcement (or lack) of announcement of new
lenses for the OM mount. They do continue to do R&D in the digital field;
however optical excellence is not required there. I think that the pattern is
clear, unfortunately. The newest Olympus digital camera, D-600L, has an 8 to
24 mm zoom (or something in that range). This technology will be difficult to
transfer to 35 mm. What was the last lens announced before the 35-80/2.8 and
when? I haven't been following this closely enought to know. I saw that
Pentax rebadged the Tamron 28-200 and think that Olympus should do something
similar. They should survey the best of the third party manufacturers, and
adapt them for Olympus. Just my humble thoughts.
