It's indeed a mode that can be switched off. The loss of light is 1
stop. I'm wondering about the image degradation myself now ...
pre-requisite is of course a clean mirror, but I don't know what the
real effect is. I've never used one of those cameras myself, it's just
a brochure I've got. Since the price was something like $2000 at that
moment, I decided to go for the OM-1 :-)
