Olympus need an inovation like they did with the OM1(M1) to
come back to the 35mm again.
An idea came to mind yesterday while I was thinking what olympus
could break into the crow market of pro 35mm market.
Olympus could introduce an 35mm camera that could take both
digital picture and regular 35mm film at the same time! This
camera could give instant view of the picture at the time of
shutter close and also has the quality/resolution of silver
film. (Then the advantage of Polaroid back of med format camera
is easily implemented with a LCD back)
How to do it?
1) Create a camera compatible with Zuiko lens, might be with auto
focus, with similar metering system as OM4T and shiftable program
2) Come with (or as option) mirror which is fixed and semi-transparent,
like the fixed pellicle mirror used in EOS 1RS.
3) The camera could accept an "digital" prism/finder which has the
a chip to record digital image
4) There is a color LCD back.
5) When picture is taken, the film record image through the mirror,
and the computer in the prism record the digital reflected by
the mirror, the resolution of digital image could various, depending
on the type of prism used
The camera could be design in a way the when regular finder/back
is used, it is just like a 35mm SLR camera. But with digital
finder and back, it would a power full dual purpose imaging machine.
